Abstract

LINGUISTIC AND WRITING POLICIES OF TURKISH SOCIETY IN THE TIME WHEN KUTADGU BILIG WAS WRITTEN

Kutadgu Bilig is the greatest work bearing the characteristics of Islamic culture in the Turkish Literature after the Divanu Lügat-it Türk of Karahanlı Turkism. Kutadgu Bilig, who is one of the most important documents in terms of Turkish-Islamic history, was the first poet and thinker of Islamic Turkish literature written by Yasuf Has Hacip of Balasagun in Kashgar, the center of the Karahanid State in 1069. When the author finished his book, he presented the eastern Karahanlı ruler Tabgaç Buğra Han and the ruler affected by the deep philosophy at work gave the title of Has Haciblik to Balasagunlu Yusuf because of this work. The work written with Aruz vezni has 73 chapters, 6645 couplets and 173 quadrants. Some sections contain encyclopedic information. This work has three manuscripts today in Fergana, Vienna and Egypt. All three versions of the manuscripts were published by the Turkish Language Association. The comparison of these three manuscripts and the translation of the text and work to the present day Türkçesine is published by Reşit Rahmeti Arat. Kutadgu Bilig, a didactic work, has an allegorical narrative. The work, which is based on four abstract concepts, has four heroes representing wisdom, justice, state and happiness. The work is written in half-story and half-representation style. The dialogue between the four main characters has been given the theater air with the speeches of the symbolic people. The ruler mentioned by the name of Gündoğdu represents "the law and justice", the vizier "happiness" by Aytoldi, the son of the vizier Ögdulm "smart" and the "fate, the end of life". These four people give information on many topics such as state administration, the responsibilities of rulers, benefits of goodness, education, marriage, raising children, inviting guests, etiquette, truth, structure of people, world and afterlife, humanity and friendship. Kemal Yavuz says: "As far as we have learned from the work, it is possible to learn all kinds of information, to read, to write, to write beautiful letters, art, verbal and all alphabets and alphabets, to write poetry, to deal with various sciences, to watch the lives of human communities, their characteristics, their knowledge about the subject of medicine, learning of the calculus, learning of astronomy, even the dream, and putting the virtues of everybody in the work of the society until the situation in the society reveals the widest point of view of the knowledge of Yusuf
