In this study, the effect of chess education on the visual perception skills of children aged 60-72 months was examined. A quasi-experimental pre-test post-test control group design was used in the study. The study group consisted of 30 children randomly selected from 42 children attending preschool education at İkitelli Kindergarten under the Ministry of National Education in Küçükçekmece, Istanbul. The experimental group consisted of 15 children, the control group included 15 children. The Personal Information Form and the Frostig Developmental Visual Perception Test were used as data collection tools. The preschool chess program was implemented for 8 weeks, 3 hours per week, for the experimental group students. The results of the study showed significant differences in favor of the experimental group. Additionally, an increase in visual perception levels was observed in the control group, which did not receive chess education, suggesting the effect of preschool education.
