Abstract


RATİNG OF ACADEMİCS' PERCEPTİONS OF DİSTANCE EDUCATİON SYSTEM FACTORS BY AHP METHOD: THE CASE OF GİRESUN UNİVERSİTY

With the development of technology and communication opportunities, educational activities are diversified with the aim of spreading education to wider masses. In this context, it is known that internet-based education has become widespread in the last ten years. Especially with the pandemic process being effective all over the world, there have been developments in distance education activities and practices. The distance education system, which has become widespread throughout the world, has become an ongoing process after the pandemic process. The aim of the study is to reveal the grading of the perception factors of distance education on academicians working and teaching at universities. It is important to rank which of the main factors revealed by this system are taken into account by academics, in terms of revealing the problems or advantages in the system. Thus, the improvement of the distance education system will lead to both university education and high school education. In this context, the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), which is one of the multi-criteria decision-making methods, was used in the study. The study was applied to 20 academicians who were teaching at Giresun University, the data were collected using the AHP method and Super Decision V.3.2. obtained with the program. It has been determined that the most important factor in the distance education system is "lack of infrastructure" (0,2789). It has been concluded that the other important factors are "Inefficient Lessons, Cost Savings, Exam Problems, Lack of Communication, Time Saving and Easy Access", respectively.
