IN A CHANGING WORLD ORDER TURKISH WAR SUPPLIES: THE ADVENTURE FROM THE SWORD SHIELD TO DRONE

Abstract

The materials that humans have used for centuries to defend themselves and to conquer new places
have changed in a mind-blowing way. Weapon production has changed in parallel with technology.
States that use technology in the best way in the changing world order have become world powers.
The Ottoman state gained its strength with the good processing of iron. Today, strong states are the
states that use technology best in the arms industry. The sword shield production and the adventure
of change that started with ball castings of various qualities continued as dizzying. Today, weapon
technology has advanced enough to give way to unmanned weapons.
In this study, it was tried to depict the warfare materials used by making use of the Ottoman
Archive data of the Prime Ministry. While the materials used were classified as firearms and nonfirearms, they were compared with today's weapon technology.
