It is possible to see rare examples of arts such as calligraphy, illumination, binding and miniature,
which have an important place in murakkas. Murakkas were written with beautiful calligraphy,
decorated and preserved for many years and have survived to the present day. There are many
important works in terms of writing and decoration in libraries, museums and private collections.
The Süleymaniye Manuscript Library comes first among the libraries mentioned. The work that is
the subject of the study is the murakka with inventory number 34, located in the Hamidiye section
of the Süleymaniye Manuscript Library. In this murakka, there are calligraphy examples written
with the artistic taste of important masters of the Iranian calligraphy school such as Şah Mahmud
Nîşâbûrî and Mir Ali Herevî. The work, which consists of ten stanzas, has been a determining factor
in that it has not been evaluated in terms of illumination art before and contains differences in the
ornamentation elements. The work in the study was examined in terms of its history, calligraphy,
style and pattern features and its place in the period was tried to be determined. This work, which is valuable in terms of book arts and contains the differences in the stanza forms
of Ottoman and Iranian illumination art, has been brought to the attention of researchers.
