Abstract


PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED AT THE BEGINNING OF DISTANCE EDUCATION AND TEACHER SOLUTIONS FOR PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED IN THE PROCESS OF DISTANCE EDUCATION

In order for societies to develop and reach a civilized and civilized position on the stage of history, it is the basic and most important condition that human beings, who are their biggest capital, are well educated. The blurring of borders as a result of globalization has caused significant changes in almost every aspect of life and has influenced the whole world. Technological developments, which have gained great momentum with globalization, have caused change and transformation in many areas. The reflection of this change and transformation in the field of education has found its way through the distance education system and has provided the education of millions of people outside the classical education approach. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the whole world, causing negative effects in all areas of life. One of the areas where these negative effects are felt the most is the field of education. In order to avoid these negativities, the distance education model has been adopted with a rapid adaptation in Turkey as in the whole world. The subject of the research; These are the problems faced by teachers in the distance education process, which has been widely applied due to the COVID-19 epidemic, and the solutions developed against these problems. The case study design, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the research, and the snowball sampling method was used while determining the study group. Questions in the semi-structured interview form were used as data collection tool. The data were analysed with content analysis, which is one of the qualitative data analysis approaches. In the research, "problems encountered at the beginning of distance education", "teacher solutions to the problems encountered in the distance education process", "contributions of colleagues and administrators to the teacher in the distance education process", "problems encountered in the distance education process", "teachers to be more advantageous in the distance education process". Themes such as “what needs to be done” were researched and within the scope of the research regarding these main themes and sub-themes; Infrastructure and hardware-based problems come to the fore, the problems experienced in adapting to distance education are mostly motivation-based, the most used solution is to work on the professional field of the teacher, and administrative contributions such as arranging the lesson programs come to the fore. It has been determined that the recommendations regarding the lack of internet, computers, infrastructure and platforms, motivation problems, moral support of teachers in the process and training on distance education come to the fore.
