The purpose of the research is to investigate the anxiety level of preschool teachers teaching faceto-face at school during the pandemic process. The population of the study was made up of
reschool teachers working in the independent kindergartens acting under the Ministry of Education,
the kindergartens acting under primary education and also the ones acting under secondary education in 2020-2021 academic year in the city of Ankara. The working group of the study was
made up of 163 preschool teachers who were contacted within the population in the city centre of
Ankara. As a data collection tool, “Personal Information Form” and Spielberger’s State-Trait
Anxiety Scale” were used. At the end of the data analysis, it was found that the lowest state-trait
anxiety score was 22 while the highest one was 59 and that 14.1% of the preschool teachers had the
low state-trait anxiety level, 72.4% had medium state-trait anxiety level and 13.5% had high statetrait anxiety level. No significant difference was found between the state-trait anxiety levels of the
preschool teachers in terms of the marital status, age, professional experience and visiting school.
Nevertheless, a significant difference was found between the state-trait anxiety levels of the
preschool teachers in terms of the school type they work for (p<0.05). This difference results from
the preschool teachers working in the kindergartens acting under secondary education and those
working in the kindergartens acting under primary education.
