In this study, it is aimed to examine the political skill levels of physical education and sports
teachers in terms of different variables. The population of the research consists of 265 physical
education and sports teachers working in the central district of Antakya in the province of Hatay in
the 2020-2021 academic year; The sample consists of 161 physical education and sports teachers
selected by random sampling method from this population. As a data collection tool in the study,
Political Skills Inventory (PSI) which was developed by Ferris et al. (2005) and adapted into
Turkish by Özdemir and Gören (2015) was used. The statistical data obtained as a result of the
research were analyzed using the SPSS 26.0 program. Since the result of the normality test
performed on the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test for Political Skills Scale (PSS) and its sub-dimensions
was found as p<.05, it was determined that the data did not show normal distribution, and therefore
nonparametric statistical techniques were used in the study. Mann-Whitney U test was applied in
paired groups and Kruskal-Wallis H test was applied in groups of more than two in order to
examine the significance of political skills according to demographic variables in nonparametric
tests. Regression analysis was applied to examine the effect of age factor on political skill.
As a result of the research, it was found that the political skill levels of physical education teachers
were high; according to the gender variable, there is no statistically significant relationship between
political skill levels, but men's political skill levels are higher than women's. It is seen that there is a
statistically significant relationship between political skill levels according to age variable and
political skill levels increase as age increases.
